Default Hole in Intake Tube / Pipe

Hello,

I did a research but couldn't find a solution...

So I tried to install it this afternoon and near the end of the installation I have a question. Since I bought it used, the previous owner inserted a hole here with a grommet (part AB on the instruction PDF), well it is a hole. I pulled out the grommet already and now just brainstorming a solution.

How should I fix it? Heat wrap tape?

Thanks everyone!

Kevin

EDITED: I was thinking about wrapping that specific section with this:

I had a PRM that the previos owner drilled for nitrous so I just wrapped the whole thing in gold tape. Never had an issue with it.

Is that from an 06+? It looks like an IAT port to me.

Any hardware store (or even HD/Lowes) should have a good selection of solid rubber stoppers you can just stick in there. You could probably even put in a short bolt that fits tightly in the rubber grommet with no problems, as it only sees vacuum.

Yeah it came off of an 06+ S2000. I decided to tape it with heat resistant tape that is normally used to wrap around broken exhaust...supposed to be pretty air tight.

Here is another problem. When coming to a stop, I have rough idle issues. It stalled several times but when I restarted the engine it was back to normal...I don't know if it was caused by the air filter I cleaned (using K&N air charger kit) or the hole.

Any pointers would be much much appreciated. Thanks!

The 2.2 engine needs an inlet air temperature sensor and that's where the former owner decided to put it.

Hmm, this actually sounds like a great idea. I will look into that! Thanks.

All S2000's have intake air temp sensors. In 2006 the sensor moved to the intake tube. From 2000 to 2005 the sensor is attached to the intake manifold.
