Honda diagnostic tester
Pgm testers(like used at a dealership) cost $2000+. I have seen diagnostic units on jegs or summit that cost about $200. My s2k, as everyone knows, is a salvage project. Can i use this tester in my favor to get codes and/or reset some of these codes?
I'm having problems with ABS, SRS, & a fuel gauge that doesnt read.
Anyone?

For 200 bucks, all it will do is read and define OBDII generic codes (P codes), and possibly display manufacturer specific codes with no definition. Not going to help you in your case.
No PGM or HDS tester is going to help you with the fuel gauge, it's not a supported item in the data stream.
The $200 OBDII code reader is only going to get you generic P codes and some of the freeze data.
The last time I priced a PGM tester it was closer to 5k, and the HDS runs around 7k.
Of course you have to be a dealer tech or a dealer to get either.
Chances are if the Airbags deployed, you'll have to replace the SRS unit, and any deployed bag or belt before the light will go out.
You can always take it to the Dealer to have the DTC's pulled.
This may be your only option.
