Default Honda Filter Wrench Question

I know that the standard Honda filter for most of their standard cars carry a different part # than the Honda filter for our S2000s.

However, is the Honda Filter Wrench the same or different? I have the Honda Filter Wrench that I use for the Honda Filters on my other Acuras and Hondas. Do I need to buy another filter wrench that is specific for the S2000?

It looks the same...

Depends on the outer diameter of those other Honda oil filters. The OEM S2000 is 80mm in diameter, with 15 flutes.

Here are the results:
  • Part # (inscribed on top of filter): 07912-6110001
  • # of flutes: 15 (didn't know they were called flutes! Who knew?)
  • Measurement: 3 1/4 inches on exterior (didn't have a metric ruler), which comes to 82.5mm

My guess is that the exterior of 82.5mm is probably 80mm on the interior...so I think I am good here...

I have the Honda filter wrench and it works perfectly with the S2000-spec Honda (brand) oil filter.

Left filter wrench is for 15400-PLM-A01 filter and right one is for 15400-PCX-004.
Both are oem.

Any filter wrench work OK. You don't need an OEM wrench.

Heck, a screwdriver shoved through the filter works just as well also.

Mine looks like the one on the left. Guaranteed non-Honda off Ebay. $5. Works perfectly.

How do you tighten a new filter, with a screwdriver through the body?
