Torque spec for the oil filter is 20-24 N-m. Printed right on the filter. About 15-18 lb-ft.

That's why there's socket for a torque wrench on the factory filter wrench.

Interesting.... The average guy can torque to about 10-12 lb-ft, about 3/4 turn, so it makes sense that the filter also says 7/8 of a turn.
3/4 turn by hand is fairly impressive. On this filter....in its stock location.

And yes...the torque spec is only for genuine honda OEM filters.

Hmmm...I'm not a super strong guy at all, but I can get it to 5/8, maybe not quite 6/8.

5/8 is believeable by hand...with a little struggle. Lol why are we discussing this? Its gotta go 7/8. If you can do 7/8 by hand on the stock filter/location, then you're strong. Once you prove that...you can do it with a wrench with almost no effort.

The wrench is $30. Not worth struggling. Or a strap wrench is like $5.

Or use a larger oil filter so you can grab it better

The larger filter is the Baldwin, the short one is a Napa/Wix 1334 and the one from Honda came off a '08 CR(stock Honda S2000 oil filter)
