Anyone know if the clutch that Honda installs as part of Service Bulletin 054 is any better than the original clutch (other than the rattle)?

You can see results of my replacement in
http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=6344
If you do a search for clutch and pressure plate, you'll find others who have posted results of theirs as well.

Thank you very much, AP.

According to the Service Bulletin document, (https://www.s2ki.com/notices/buzzinfromengine.htm) they only replace the disk itself -- not the pressure plate. Is that your understanding too, or is the pressure plate automatically replaced as well?

Fuzzy,
I didn't go in for the TSB. I went in for slippage but showed them the TSB anyway. As soon as they reproduced the slippage the Service Advisor said the clutch disk, pressure plate and bearing would be replaced together. HTH.

Fuzzy,

I just had TSB054 performed on my car. Under the TSB, only the clutch disk is replaced. Apparently, the problem is caused by the springs that are imbedded in the disk - damping is reduced over time and causes the springs to vibrate under deceleration. The only difference between the original disk and the replacement disk is the imbedded springs. Also, listen to what Honda has to say about the new clutch in the TSB - this clutch is significantly louder than the original clutch under all operating conditions!!!

Thanks dbarnes and AP.

I'm getting mine done on Friday. I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers, -Fuzzy
