Default Hot weather problems

I've noticed that after some hard driving on a warm day my car has a tendency to almost stall we sitting in slow traffic. Is there something I can do about this problem? My Car is stock at this time my02. My plans are to go with the Comptech CAI and a dual exhaust (for looks and sound). Will these mods help to make the care breathe better in warm weather. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 2002 with only 1,500 miles on it and once in a while (when I'm at a light or very slow traffic), the rpms will drop and it feels like it's about to stall. This only happened maybe 3-4 times, but it scared the crap out of me! It never stalled, but just felt like it was about to. Anyone else having this problem? By the way, my car is stock. Thanks all.

Were you using the air conditioning? When the compressor kicks in the idle can drop some.

I think the engine idles rough compared to all the other Honda I've owned. But then they had softer engine mounts, too. And even if they felt rough at idle, they always seemed to smooth out after I did a valve adjustment.

85 degrees here today. Had the car out for the first time in hot weather. Hot idle and throttle response is not consistant upon restarting the car. Seems like it wants to stall.

Reese: There has been quite a lot of work done on this. Yes the S2k has a heat penalty, but it can be fixed very inexpensively. Check out these links:

Some have used sun shades for insulating material. You may want to search for pics.
I used reflectix.

Hope this helps.

Hondata Intake gasket....very interesting. I just read about it. Thanks for the info! Only $60 from what they say, so it sounds like a no-brainer! Keep em coming boys!
