You said you jumpered the key fob to make both doors open at the same time? Ohhhh, tell me how!! It is next to impossible for me to get the passenger side door to unlock in less than 3 tries.

You could be right, but I don't know exactly what conditions make the doors lock. I know it's possible to lock the keys in the car because I've heard of someone doing it. I've also been inside the car when the doors locked on me so I'm pretty sure opening the door doesn't keep the doors from locking. Maybe I'll have to go outside and play around with it and see what causes the doors to auto-lock.
Perhaps when you open a door, the car doesn't realize it happened. This is the case on both my MY00 and my girlfriend's MY03. Sometimes it works, but the switch on the back door jamb isn't very reliable. You can test by seeing if the interior light comes on when you open either door.

Actually the jumper is in the door lock circuit block under the dash, but I cannot find any record of what I did years ago (Modifry told me what pins to cross). Based on a quick look in the manual (and some things circled in pencil) I would guess I jumped the #7 yel/grn pin to the #18 pnk/blu pin on the back of the connecter to the lock control unit. I am not at my car but know it is deep under the drive dash.

That's wrong. It should not relock if you opened a door.

Check to make sure your ignition isn't sticking. If you open the door with no key in the ignition and the car beeps at you, then nothing regarding the keyless entry will work right.

How about making it so that the doors don't lock when you start the engine? The car always locks my passenger out, kinda silly. Anyone know how to turn that off?

Also interested in messing with car wires to unlock both doors at the same time.

Pressing it twice is too tedious for my poor overworked fingers.

Dunno. I hate the idea of someone climbing in the car as I'm turning the engine over. Think about it - you got this nice hottie stepping into your car and you turn the keys while staring at that brief flash of a thong under that miniskirt...

and forget to step on the clutch when the starter fires up...
