Default How do I fix a squeaky suspension?

Ok, when I turn or hit a bump or get in or out of my car the springs make a clicking squeaky noise... very noticable if I push down right about on the quarter panel. How can I fix this? its a stock suspension and i was planning on dropping it an inch with some eibach springs... will this fix it you think?

how hard do you have to push on the panel? The springs may not be seated properly..

of course, the springs may not be to blame here. maybe your shocks are done for. how many miles you got?

make sure your top hat bolts are on tight and not loose. check the strut towers under the hood, and in the trunk. Its not worth taken the springs off if your not going to replace them all together.

if you have a 2000 then its definately time for new springs! Im on Eibach Prokit springs, lowered 1" with stock shocks. love 'em.

i wouldn't trade my linear oem springs for progressive eibach's.

maybe the squeaky noise is related to worn shocks?

there is a rubber, i don't know what you call it, gasket or something that sits between the spring and the strut on the lower end, upon changing out springs, you probably should put new ones in.

i did not, i knew they were ripped a bit and on the rear springs they do squeak. i'd say grease 'em up or something or pull the springs off the car and replace the rubber padding.

i didn't want to have to wait for the parts by ordering through honda so i just used the old pads. i'd say that could be the cause of the squeakiness. so, when you change out to eibachs make sure ahead of time to order those rubber paddings for the springs/struts.

and to go on further, without or with torn rubber padding, the spring metal is sitting metal to metal with the strut assembly, upon hitting bumps the metals is grinding upon each other, hence the squeak...
