How to get the trunk to open?
Fuses in question:
Fuses No. 41 (100 amp) and 54 (30 Amp) located in the Under-Hood Fuse Relay Box.
Fuse No. 26 (15 amp) located in the Under-Dash Fuse Relay box. As fuse failures work upstream check the under the dash first.
That is probably where the alarm was installed which is the root cause of your problems. The box is located in the driver side kick panel.
Fuses OK? Pull the switch in the glove compartment. Should be continuity when depressed. Bad switch? Short the connector with a paperclip to open the trunk and fix later.

P.S. This exact circuit is why "Silver Shark" was renamed "Electra" so many moons ago........

It could be that when your car was put back together after the paint job, the trunk release wires were not connected. What I've heard you can do is try to take out one of your seats..(driver or passenger) take off the rear panels and try to ge to your trunk that way and press the trunk release button. Try using a long stick or wire. But hopefully its just a fuse. Good luck

)i would have never found that switch inside my dark trunk...
I would try having someone push down on the trunk slightly as you depress the trunk release button at the same time. The trunk might be a little tight and preventing the release motor from functioning properly. Good Luck!
