How hard is it to install a exhaust? i have a Spoon exhaust but haven't have time to put it in and was also wondering how the under body goes... cuz i heard it wasn't that easy. can someone post some step by step procedures. thanks a lot!

 

I was about to put the spoon exhaust on my car with the help of my friend using only hand tools. I got as far as jacking up the car before i said, "screw it, i'd rather pay the muffler shop." A local muffler shop could put it on in about 10-15min with ease.

 

i installed the spoon exhaust in 45mins. first part I ever installed on a car. its very easy

 

i heard there some where hard to get to is that true? besides the unscrew the bolts is there anything i need to know? thanks.

It is quite simple. The things you need are 14mm and 10mm sockets and a can of Liquid Wrench. Squirt the 3 14mm nuts holding on the exhaust a while before you begin work.

Easiest method I've found is to jack up the rear of the car pretty high and remove the rear wheels. Place the wheels underneath the rear mufflers. Undo the 3 nuts holding the system to the cat, then remove the single hanger holding the exhaust a bit behind the cat. A bit of Liquid Wrench on the rubber hanger makes the job a lot easier.

There's some kind of sheet metal cross brace thingy that's held in place by 10mm bolts. Get that outta the way.

Then undo the two hangers holding each muffler in place. Liberal use of Liquid Wrench on the hangers will again make things go more smoothly. Having a rear wheel support one muffler while you undo the other one will be helpful, and if you're putting in a dual system, using this method will aid in installation. Doing a single is a piece of cake.
