How to increase boost with a SuperCharger
I've got a Vortech Supercharger and it only get's up to about 6-7psi between 8-9,000 rpm. Down at 3-4,000 rpm it's hardly contributing any boost. Has anyone ever changed the pulley(s) on their blower to get more boost at lower rpm's and is this ill advised?
Thanks,
Derek

Actually, +7 psi is all it should be boosting at max revs.
Your statement about NOT contributing any boost down at lower rpms is incorrect. You must understand that this car normally runs in excess of 22 psi VACUUM, so even at low rpm, just because you don't show positive boost pressure does NOT mean there is no boost. Compensating for vacuum is the same as boost. I find that just driving around (steady state) at around 3000-4000 rpm, the boost gauge registers about 10 psi vacuum. You "might" say that the engine is under about 10 psi boost at that particular point.
