Thanks, Great DIY, was a lot of help.
Only thing I changed, was instead of using a metal punch to 'pound the metal in'. I used a piece of hardwood dowl. This worked fine to bend the metal, but, did not damage the paint on the metal.

I edited the original post with that suggestion. Thanks.

You are supposed to measure back 184 mm from the front edge of the rear quarter panel, then measure the gaps latched and unlatched at that point.

Did you see this picture in the OP? There is no measurement that needs to be taken from the hardtop itself for it. Whatever part of the hardtop that aligns with the 184mm fender measurement is where you go from.

Anybody have the specs for the gap between the top windshield and the front of the hardtop?
Yes, the 184mm measurement is simply where to take the open and closed gap measurement.
I don't remember there being a measurement for the front latches area. I think as long as it's tight you are good. Don't over think it, it's just a hard top not a nuclear reactor.

If your front latches are tight then that's all they need to be. Basically if you have to use a little bit of force to latch the front then it's fine, but if they close with almost no force then it's to loose. If they are to loose it has nothing to do with the front gap since it's not adjustable. The only way to tighten down the front is to either put some sort of wrap on the front strikers, or shim them. Most people that have any wear on their latches end up using one of these two methods to tighten it up.
