I searched around for information on this...found one thread in perticular that discussed a super charged application but otherwise nothing.

Had my car dyno'd today. Guy asked just how lean I wanted to run. I let him now I wanted to make gains, but keep things safe.

So he basically told me that we'd avoid going over 14.0 and try to keep it between 13 and 14.

I made decent gains with this! Before we started to play with the vafc, I dyno'd at 180 peak hp (this is on a dyno dynamics setup). I was fairly happy with this...since stock I was at 202 on a dynojet...so it looks like the aem cai made a little power.

Once we finished up I was between 188 and 189 depending on the run. The run he printed out was just under 188.

But my question is..am I too lean running like this. He wasn't sure what tolerances the s2000 has. And if you look at the dyno link below you'll see I'm fairly close to, and in one instance exceed 14.

Advice would be appreciated.

the printout is at http://mathcs.holycross.edu/d2d/s2000/dyno...8-02.-small.jpg

Thanks...

Dave

err guess I didnt search well enough. Found a post that said to stay around 13.5. Still someone who knows more than I, if you could peak at my dyno chart and let me know what you think I'd appreciate it.

David, you are o.k. I assume your car has a catalytic converter in place? If so, the readings at the tailpipe will be 0.3-0.5 points leaner than they actually are coming out of the engine.

As such, 14.0 is probably at the maximum level (adjusted) that you'd want to be. You shouldn't have any problems at all - except maybe if you're trying to set a land speed record. Then you might want to richen it up :-)

looks like you made a nice gain there. I wouldn't worry about the 187 number tho. Every dyno is different.

Yeah I'm not worried. I was told about 15% lower and dyno dynamics than on dynojet.

When I dyno'd stock on a dynojet I was at 201 or 202...pretty sure I'm significantly above that now though with the intake and vafc. I'll find out when I feel like spending ~80$ for a couple runs at the local dynojet shop.
