It depends on what you do to make it run safe.
Right off the bat, you need to throw away your expectation to run 12-15psi with Paxton NOVI1000. It just isn't possible to run that high with NOVI-1000.
I may possibly running close to 12psi once my 2.6inch pulley arrives but I am seriously jeopardizing myself to overdrive the blower and I will be limiting myself to rev only upto 7.5Krpm.
I have been running with 3.4 and 3.1 inch pulley now but I am sure I am really slowly killing the blower.

If you are so concern with running safe than, I suggest no more than 7-8psi.
After that you will be needing quite a bit of money to accomodate bigger boost, such as intercooler, injectors, management ecu.....etc.

Also, consider that if you decide to modify the kit, Comptech will void any warranty service that you may face later on(which is quite possible with brackets).

But if you are ballsy, go ahead and try it out and see if you can really run 12psi+.
I have been pretty brave and stupid and came this far but I am not brave enough to go past what I've already done.

Randy...

you say NOVI-1000, mine is a NOVI-2000. was that a typo on your post or has comptech started using a different SC in the kit?

Dude, are you sure??
If that is the case, I want to strangle Comptech!!

I am pretty sure that the Comptech kit is NOVI-1000.
Does your blower says, NOVI-2000????

WTF??

Good thing is you are not far away,
I need to see you in person immediately!

i'm sure... well, i'm getting older, but hopefully not senile yet.

bought the kit used from one of the board members up in NY, who only had it for a few months before deciding to go turbo.

when i was looking through some of the other threads several of them were older ones and said novi-1000 as well. when i started doing some research to put together my spreadsheet to try and calculate boost based on the pulley sizes i was looking at stats on Paxton's home page and thought the pictures did not match up. popped my hood and it has novi-2000 on the blower.

s2000coupe, seems like I spoke too soon.
If Comptech switched the blower to NOVI-2000 for sure, than boost away to your dream provided that you are strengthening your motor internals and lowering the compression.

By the way Keith, would you like to trade blowers?

no, IT"S MINE!!!

with you so close, maybe i need to buy a set of hood locks.....

before everyone starts running home from work to check under the hood, let me make sure tonight that a visit to the eye doctor is not required. could be the start of a mid-life crisis for me.
