Mobil 1 synthetic.

Change it once a year before winter storage, about 6-7k miles.

I change mine every 5k and I use Syntec and Mobil 1 (whichever one Walmart has on sale that day). I'm not worried about a good synthetic lasting 5k. I'm more concerned with the filter at that point.

wow.... i'm amazed at how many people who lurk this forum still change their oil at 3k/3mo internvals..... it's kinda sad really. i wonder if they are on dialup and have "outdoor" plumbing as well?

Exactly. I have a better idea. You all can change your oil 5k-10k like I do and send me the money you've saved since you're just wasting it anyway. If you're changing Syn oil under normal driving conditions under 5k miles, you're being utterly ridiculous. I changed my oil last time at 10.5k miles and when I was getting my valves adjusted, the mechanic asked when the last time I changed it was. I said almost 11k miles and he was shocked. He said it was definitely time for a change but he thought I was probably only at 6-7k miles.

Synthetic oil lasts a long time, and you all are just throwing your money away

agreed. want gas prices to go down? don't change your oil when it doesn't need to be changed. less demand = less cost to the consumer.

not 100% sure thats gonna make gas prices go down since the demand for gas won't change... but might help the environment and your wallet to atually use the oil till its broken down or at least close to it.

3k is pointless with synthetic, unless you are in VTEC for 3k...
you can probably push 10k if you wanted to.

I change my oil before summer, 4000-4500 miles later i'll do it again, store it 'till spring, and change again
