Default How to remove passenger ac vent

How can I remove the passenger ac vent. I just want the outer trim off so I can paint it.

I don't want to ruin anything so I don't want to just start pulling.

According to the service manual, the vent trim doesn't come off by itself -- the trim is attached to the rest of the vent. If you picture the vent as a box that comes out of the dash as one piece, you get the idea. There are two clips on the bottom on either side of the vent wheel. To remove it you have depress the clips and try to pry it up and out. The top is held in by two hooks - so if you push up and out from the bottom you should be able to swing it out from the bottom and then lift up to take it off the hooks it hangs on.

Does this make sense? If not, I'll try and scan the page and send it to you.

My passenger vent is loose. Are there clips that hold the vent in the dash? Does anybody know if Honda sells the clips? Thanks.
