Mine was completely flattened and I could not remove it with a pick. So the only option was dremmeling for me.
BTW, I was wrong about it being embedded in the catalytic converter. It's actually embedded in the exhaust flange ...

You dremeled your old OEM gasket out? I just leave it there. Why bother with removing it?

took mine off today
the stock system is very very heavy
my decat was 1kg
my cat was 5kg
my skunk2 mega power was around 12kg from front to back
that standard system was 24kg
so i just saved 16kg
might splash out on a J's to save another 11 kg !!!!

Just because I dont want to create a new post - if I am installing a hitch and just need to lower the exhaust I assume that means I can get away with just loosening those cat bolts - should I replace the gasket?

My exhaust hangs crooked so I was checking out this thread to gain some insight before attempting to fix it. But like others have mentioned, the pics are no longer available. I think I see what the problem is... the Photobucket album has been set to private. I went ahead and sent a PM to the OP, in case this was done in error. If he's still on S2ki, I'm hoping that we regain access to the pics.
