Arrow Humming Brake Noise

So I just replaced my brake pads on the rear..

Interesting tho.. My pistons turn in then down push in... Is that stock?

Anyways after I installed the new pads I went out for a quick test drive.. When I slammed on the brakes I hear a humming nose..

Is that normal? What could cause that?

either you didn't resurface the rotors, didn't retract the piston correctly, didn't put brake grease on the back side of the pads, or you didn't line up the notch on the piston with the notch on the pad...

or unfortunately, more than likely all of the above. sorry

Whats my next step? Take them both off and do them again? Or Do I figure out what side its coming from?

I didn't put brake grease on. Didn't think I needed it.. I guess I'll by some..

I didn't get the rotors turn because I was told I didn't need to by another s2k owner...

well even if you don't turn the rotors, you should at least scuff them to take off the glaze.

i would suggest taking them back apart and doing the grease if you have or can get easily

as for the notch i believe that on the s2k the ebrake is built into the caliper. ( i haven't had to do my rears yet on it and can't remember.) but if it does there shount be two notches in the caliper and you want them to be perpendiculat to the way it will line up to the rotor. this way you can line it up with the nipple/s on the back side of your inboard pad.

it its not the built in ebrake then this won't apply. though if you had to turn and push to get the piston in, it is more than likely the built in ebrake style.

if you still have a vibration you will need o check you hardware kit ( the little clips that hold ing the pads) to make sure that they are not damaged. ( i think that they are on the s, again i haven't done the rears on my s yet, but am going on past expirience as a mechanic)

let us know how it goes
