Default Brake Grinding.

Ok, so after replacing the rotors and brake pads on my01, I still have this horrible grinding noise coming from the rear. I have also greased the pads and the little springy slider thing. Of course, at higher speeds I hear nothing. It's really strange and I've been trying to work on it all weekend. Does anyone have any helpful ideas?

Thanks.

If it's grinding when you're not on the brakes, then wheel bearings would be my next guess.

What kind of brake pads are you using, make sure it's from manufacture ==> Ceramic only, do not put cheap stuff in.

When I remove the rotor, pads and caliper, I spin the bolts and I hear nothing that would indicate something else. I may be wrong. I do fine it difficult to spin the bolts when I take off the rotors. I don't know if this is normal.

So, to answer your question. No, I'm not sure that it's the brakes but the grinding and rhythmic sound made me assume that it was the brakes.

If it were the wheel beraing, would it start off with no noise and then start to crunch after i've stopped? I'm wondering if the bearing starts ok and then starts to make noise again after warm up.

I'm using a set of pads from Auto Zone. The Duralast ones. I've used them before without any problems. I can't imagine this being a problem this time.

Ok, it looks as though it is the wheel bearing. I'm going to order another one and see how that goes.
