I also got a quote for a rebuild and he says its closer to $7000. Not sure why. That was with the motor still in the car with out getting into it to see what really happened. Hopefully I will not have to give them my engine so I can take it apart to see what is wrong. Maybe I can rebuild it later and sell it or just sell it like it is. Or maybe one of you guys can buy it from me cheap.

You're better off getting a used engine than rebuilding your current motor. Shop around for better pricing. There are a lot of s2000s in Texas so keep looking till you find a good engine at a good price.
