I designed and built a solution to the heat bog
I believe once an invention has been put into the public domain a patent is, for all intensive purposes, useless (as one of the lawyers in this thread mentioned earlier). You also have to defend patents vigorously or lose them.
The product does look interesting (kudos to DIESELPILOT1969 on the construction) but some more information on how it actually performs temperature-wise would be nice.
Siepel has offered some data on temperature using various intakes (below).
Stock airbox 72 - 70
Stock airbox with the lid removed 76 - 72
CAI with filter element in the engine compartment 67 - 62
CAI with filter element outside the engine compartment 64 - 57
PRM with aluminum pipes and enclosed K&N filter 76 - 72
Chrome metal L-shaped pipe with open cone filter at the end 64 - 56
tebs (UK owner) claims that his snorkel type intake tests resuted in lowering his airbox temp by up 10-15 degrees.
This is the sort of easily acquired information that would be interesting to see.

The patent was $1700.00 to file and materials and labors are not cheap either. While your at it check and see what it costs to develop a mold for something like this!
Isn't there a possibility that this product DECREASES horsepower at higher RPMs?
I think you should show that the product works, before deciding how much we should pay for it.

Do you have proof of any performance gain from using this product?

If what you think as far as like a dyno run I can do that. Give me a week or so to find a dyno machine and setup a couple of runs.
