For some time now, I'd have occasional difficulties in shifting my 2002 into sixth gear, but it would work it's way out. But now, it's stiff going into fifth, and I can't get it to go into sixth at all! The shift lever won't go into that slot at all. Anyone got a clue on this?

 

Is reverse accessible? Try it with the car off and on and pushing down on the shifter and without.

Might help...there is a fix you can try that Billman talks about. Hopefully it works.

 

Do you skip gears?

If you do, that is what caused it.
