Default i need help please..

i just installed a 04 oem used clutch(15k miles) on MY01.
when i got the car back, i noticed a nasty sound coming from the tranny while decelerating at 4000 rpms. it does it the most in 2nd gear

the sound is like.. a rattleing noise. when in idle or on the throttle, the noise isnt there.
only when decelerating at 4000 rpms.

what could this be???
thanks guys, its really bothering me.

Possible throw out bearing. Did you replace it when you replaced the clutch?

the dreaded clutch buzz.....its annoying but won't hurt the car. the springs in the clutch disc reach their resonance frequency and start to buzz on decel. My car does the same thing.

You sure the used clutch came from a 04?

My guess is it came from a 00-01

Sure sounds like it to me...

And I do know a thing or two about the TSB054 clutch buzz: mine was so bad I got no pleasure out of ownership. However, I'm happy to report that replacing the disk fixed the problem, and the car is enjoyable again. $125 or so, a couple of evenings watching ball games in the garage, and it's all good.

i HAD the 00-01 clutch buzz on my first OEM clutch.
this is an 04 clutch and the chattering is coming from the TRANSMISSION not the clutch. it is not a buzz.

Sounds like you're going to spend another couple of evenings under the car... Hope it's not expensive. Good luck.
