Default I Often Find My Car Locked in My Garage ?

This has been going on for a few years, where I often find my car completely locked while it is stored inside my garage. I have never intentionally locked my car while it has been stored in my garage. I just go to get something out of the car and I find that both doors are locked. My keys/remotes are stored away most of the time and I have no use in touching them in between drives. My car sits in my garage most of the week, I only drive it on weekends during the driving season. The battery is fully connected while it is sitting in the garage during the week. I can't think of anything I do on the car to cause it to lock up on it's own. When I first got the car five years ago I did the modifry trick of cutting one of the remote key access wires to allow you to open the passenger door and trunk using the key remote while the car is running, I don't know if this is a side effect of that mod or if someone in my neighbourhood has the same remote signal as my car ?. It has happened twice already this season, and I've only had the car in driving mode for about 3 weeks. Thanks for reading and any replies.

Mine does that too. I've been meaning to experiment with it and see if there are circumstances when it does this or if it just does it no matter what. I've read how the circuit works in the helm electrical manual and it doesn't mention it.

07 and 08 btw. I don't remember if my 01 did.

Yeah there is no rhyme or reason for mine, nothing to indicate that it is related to any of my actions. Mine is a 2002 ap1, no aftermarket electronics on the car.

Found this once or twice. Butt activate either the lock or unlock button on the remote and the car will automatically lock about 30 seconds after unlock is activated unless you open a door.

Yes, but whenever I have found the car locked my keys have never been touched prior to the event.

Space aliens are suspect but...

Never put the keys in your pocket? When not in use they're carried and placed on velvet pillow?

Other stuff in a pocket can depress the buttons by accident. I've activated the car alarm on at least one of my cars when I sat down inside my house and the remote got depressed by something in my pocket so I have no doubt the car could be locked/unlocked by the same event. I like the fact that accidental unlocking of this Honda will relock the car if a door ain't opened after half a minute.

The car has an autolock feature to it. I think if you push the unlock button and not open the door, it'll lock automatically after 30seconds or a minutes. It probably explains it in your owners manual somewhere.
