i think they put too much oil in!
i just got my 2nd oil change and they put 5.5 qts in. that did not sound right and when i had a chance to check my manual it indicated (pg 166) that the capacity was 5.1 qts.
what should i do?
i was planning on going to the track today and don't feel to good about it. i've only driven .5 miles from the shop to work b4 discovering this.

5.5 is actually what is recomended. The book is wrong. Just check the dipstick after the car has gone COLD and make sure its at the H reading from the lower of the 2 sides. If it is WAY over the top you might have a problem.
A couple times I put in 6 quarts by accident. No ill effect to be reported. 63K on the dial mind you.

For some service places, an oil change isn't a "simple" thing. ALWAYS check their work - chech the dipstick, the oil drain bolt, the oil filter, the oil filling cap (and the car for scratches and signs of a joy ride).
Oh and check the engine bay for tools and rags that may have been left in there. A local owner's car looked like it was on fire on one of our last drives. In fact, it was on fire. The dummy that did the spark plug recall left a rag in the engine bay and on the drive the rag found its way onto the exhaust manifold. Until the smoke cleared a bit, we thought his car was going to blow up or something.
