I am having this exact same problem with my car. I bought my car a few months ago and the previous owner has the rear fender liner removed and possibly thought that I just don't have as much insulation and therefore here the same noise. The sound does sound rotational if that makes sense. It does sound like its coming from my tires, but I also just put on brand new tires on my car and got an alignment from Evasive a few months ago.
What kind of tires did you go with? Notice any sound coming from the front of the car?

I don't think the S2k Ap1 or 2 have rear fender liners, You can buy aftermarket ones here https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/915...now-available/
Oh I didnt know that. Well then that makes me wonder even more as to why I am getting such a loud road like noise coming from the rear of my car.

I went with Sumitomo HTR Z3. The tires I had on my previous rims that came with the car were Nitto NT05 and they made the same noise as well. Which leads me to believe this noise is not coming from the tires. Something from the rear of the car is making this noise.

Have you done anything to investigate the noise?

No I havent. Just been dealing with it. Hahaha.

In about another 3,500 miles I am due for a 60k mile tune-up. I will have either Evasive or my friend (who works at Honda) check it out when I get my tune up. I hope its nothing major.

So it turns out for me it's my rear passenger wheel bearing that is creating all that cabin noise.

1. Locate previous car owner.
2. Kick him hard in the nuts for removing your rear fender liners.
3. Feel bad later when you find out that S2000s don't have rear fender liners.

Did some more searching on the forums and seems like others had the same problem with the rear wheel bearing so when I recently took it to a shop to get a valve adjustment, I asked them to check both my rear wheel bearings

For bearing raise side of car, hold wheel at 12 and 6 and try moving it to see if there is play. If it can move then more than likely a wheel bearing

You could also try running it with the car off the ground. It might be a propeller shaft problem too.
