Default Idle issue (cannot narrow down the cause)

So I have been having idle issues come up again recently where when i depress the clutch pedal while the car is in motion the idle will hover at around 2k rpms and will continue to stay there until completely stopped where it will fall back to normal range. Also the car will rev up and down on cold start ups at times on its own. I have replaced coil packs, spark plugs, Iacv valve, throttle body, map sensor, spark plug seals and did ecu re-learn procedure. What are your guy’s input. The car is MY2000 with 170k miles

My thought too. Take your propane torch and flow a little propane around parts of the engine. When the idle speed climbs, you've found your leak.

Thank you for all the help. Do you know where the leaks are commonly found in these types of cases?

There are two vac lines connected to a molded metal connector near the front of the valve cover that are super easy to miss, but those cause the air pump not to run and a CEL after some amount of time in my experience, so probably not it. But I knocked one off when removing the valve cover once and did not notice until I started the car.

I do not know of any other "typical" ones on this car really.

Thanks for that. They were disconnected, but it may not be the cause for the idle problems i am experiencing. I will try the butane approach. Thanks

I suppose LIT or UNLIT, depends on how much you like the car. Or how much pain it has given you.

Soapy water, sprayed from spray bottle maybe less hazardous? Looks for bubbles, associated with vacuum leak.
