Default Idle problem?

since last month, my idle is kinda lower than usual.

it usually sit around 700-800 rpm, but not its around 400.

I only have an intake so far and it has 41k miles.

Any possible problems? I had the service at 30k btw.

thanks.

Have you checked the Helm's manual for an idle adjustment. All of my previous Hondas had an idle screw for "macro" adjustment, then an EACV for fine adjustment by the ECU. You had to disconnect the EACV, then use the screw to adjust the idle to about 50 RPMs below the ECU's target, then plug the EACV back in.

My '91 Integra was supposed to idle at 750 RPMs (if I'm remembering correctly) with the EACV connected, and 700 RPMs with the EACV disconnected.

You may also want to verify that your ECU backup fuse is good (fuse #25). If this fuse is blown or missing, the idle quality will always suck.

You can tighten the throttle cable to increase the idle, but the ECU will not be happy about it. If ever there was a "band-aid" solution, this would be it.

Actually, I haven't confirmed whether there is an EACV or not. If there is an EACV, and an idle adjuster screw, turn it which ever way makes the idle closer to what you want.
