It started about a month ago. The car ran fine but out of the blue on the way to work it wouldn't idle. I'd pull up to a stop light and it would just die. No stumbling, it would just die. I made it to work having to restart several times (no problem starting). I went home for lunch and it ran and idled fine. Been that way up until yesterday. Then it stopped idling again. I got it home and did the idle re-learn procedure and then took it for a test drive. Twice during the drive it would not idle but by the time I got back to the house it was idling fine again. So the problem is definitely intermittent which makes tracking this down harder, plus you never know when it will stop idling again. Anyone ever have this sort of problem? Any suggestions on where to look for the problem?

Try cleaning the idle air control valve.
