Idling problem
How come when Im in nuetral, my '00 S2K sounds like it wants to die sometimes? It hasnt died on me yet, but I get kinda scared when I hear this. Would a ground wire system fix this? If not, what causes this and how do I fix this?
what do you mean? you have to be more specific. is your idle constantly lumping up and down, or does it just get real low for a second but then comes back up and idles like normal?
if it's the latter of the two, then this is normal and should "go away" on its own in a few days.

it just get real low for a second but then comes back up and idles like normal. Its been doin this for a long time. It does it almost everytime I drive. (at a light, while my foot is on the clutch, right after startup, etc)
can someone explain to me why every time someone mentions this, people jump all over the "your throttle body needs to be cleaned" bandwagon? can someone provide a technical explination as to why your idle would stumble low and then pop back up to normal just because you have a dirty throttle body?

Illogical people all over the globe usually will come to same illogical solution to mundane issues given enough time... or they just hop on the bandwagon.

i'm not trying to be a smart ass. i really want to know the technical explination. i ask because, we HAVE a technical explination for both the map sensor whack, as well as the more common "confused ecu" issue.
but i have yet to see anyone provide technical reasoning or proof behind this cleaning the throttle body. instead they say "well i did it and it worked", which unfortunately isn't much proof, because chances are one of the other two conditions involving map sensor or confused ecu cleared up on its own at the same time they did the throttle body. it'd be like vacuuming my car at the moment my maintenance light came on, and then claiming that the vacuuming caused the maintenance light to come on.
or they say "well we cleaned the tb and did xxxxx or xxxxx as well" meaning that one of the other things done could have solved the issue.
i was not trying to be a jerkoff, just trying to get a technical explination for it. that's all! provide one, and then we will know if cleaning the TB is actually a viable solution or not.
Just looking for facts beyond "well i did it and it worked".
