Default Ignition switch discontinued help

bad ignition switch and was hoping to buy a replacement but it is discontinued and no one sells one anywhere for a 05. Does anyone know if there is an ignition switch from a different vehicle I can use instead.

I thought all 2005s were AP2s. If it has the F22C, should work? Even if it didn't have an F22C, I'd be surprised if an ignition switch (which should just be connecting + and - on press) wouldn't work on an F20C.

okay cool! That’s pretty much the consensus I came with, it’s just that people who post them online group 06-09 so I thought maybe that one was different but on pictures I don’t really see any changes

Do you need the switch or the entire lock assembly? I didn't see just the switch as a separate part. I think it gets complicated with the chip in the key so repairing the switch may be an option.

2006 ignition lock assembly -- all the mechanical stuff and switch -- is different (will not fit) the 2005 and earlier cars (and vv) according to the parts sites like Hondapartsnow and others all of which seem to use the same database and pictures.

I really just need the switch assembly, but since I’ve messed with the switch I haven’t had any issues in a while so maybe I had some wiring issues and when Messing with it I freed something up, but if it does start acting up again I will just need the switch, so thanks for the comment on 06+ not being a match, I could try getting into the switch and cleaning it up and fixing old crimp spots on the wires that were probably causing my high resistance. Thanks for the note!

The ignition lock assemblies are noted to be different. The electrical key switch itself may be a common Honda part. Hopefully your switch keeps working!
