Default Injector question

What would happen if I just change my stock injectors to bigger ones, without EMS? Not that I want it to push more fuel, just to have better(easier) fuel flowing and even maybe a cure to my hesitation between 8000 and 9000 rpm. Later on if I get itchy, I will have the injectors already installed and I'll invest in the EMS, run higher boost. The car has the vortech kit. Does make sense what I'm thinking?

My *guess* would that without a V-AFC or adjustable FMU, you would run rich throughout the entire RPM range. I ran a set of RC 440s with a V-AFC and the Comptech kit (which has an adjustable FMU) and was able to get it tuned right on.

Changing injectors isn't going to cure a fuel tuning problem. It's going to cause alot mroe problems.

Oh oh oh!

May I suggest 785cc injectors from ultimate racing?

Get those, and you're 1/3 of the way to 350 rwhp.

You know nothing.

Mayhan, without the proper fuel management system the larger injectors will make your car horrible to drive at any RPM or throttle position.

I sent him a PM explaining to him everything he needed to know! Just throwing in injectors won't work, and I sent him the 11 psi pulley sales pitch along with it.

I wouldn't lead anyone into believing that just adding injectors would do anything good for the car.

Hope you hit 300 rwhp soon Wes.

There's a chapter in Four-Stroke Performance Tuning by A. Graham Bell (Haynes Publishing 2002) on how to size the injectors. You could also achieve similar results by having an adjustable regulator. Good luck.

Nope. You only know how to pay someone to get 350 whp for you.

hey we are going OT here

YS was the VAFC enough for the upgrade?
Did you have any problem with running too rich at idle?
Does the ECU correct fuel correctly at idle with the bigger injector?
