Inline Pro built AP1
Long story short. Car spun a rod bearing. Took the car to inline pro. Went with the stroker kit they offer spent over $9500 and 6000 miles and 2 oil changes later car is blowing blueish whitish smoke out the exhaust whenever you punch the gas doesnt matter the speed or gear. No smoke what so ever as long as your babing it. Inline pro will not respond to any of my emails or calls and I live to far away to pay them a visit right now. HELP!!
I had the same experience with them last year. The rings never seemed to have seated properly and I had lots of oil consumption.
By the end of the season, one of the valves had snapped a head and destroyed the the motor. The valves were their own brand.
What type of oil did you use to break it in? What's the mileage on it so far? It usually takes a couple thousand miles until the oil consumption subsides. Did you reuse the oem frm cylinder liners, or was it resleeved?

And according to them it was resleeved. I live so far away from them it was hard for me to go back and forth to make sure they were doing what they were saying. Thought they were the best in the business the only reason I went the distance I did. Very Very unprofessional considering the amount of money I spent with them.
Well they said they broke it on the dyno when they were tuning it. Car had 101,500 when the build happened car has right at 108,000 on it now. Ive only been using royal purple oil as they recommended but of course now they wont answer the phone or emails.

It's sad when a company that supposedly knows what they're doing thinks the load placed on the an engine on a dyno is the same as pushing the weight of the car and the friction in the drivetrain. In any case it seems those rings aren't seating properly. Sometimes the builder does not use a decking plate when doing cylinder work, causing the cylinders to warp slightly, usually resulting in smoking. It's actually a design flaw in the F20c that was corrected when Honda moved production to their Tochigi factory. Maybe it's the machine shop they use, I don't know.

Thanks for the link. I have been in contact with wadzii concerning the kit.
I live 10 miles from inline pro. I was pretty damn close to dropping 13k on a stage 2 turbo kit with hondata kpro on my previous '03 ap1. I since sold that car thinking that 78k miles was a bit much for that much power to hold for long. After seeing your post, I decided to send John an e-mail asking to explain what's happening with your car. I would like reassurance that they are as reputable as they seemed in person. While I was there he told me everything I wanted to hear. Ptuning is also very close to me. I have my choice of great s2k shops. I guess my decision will come down to how they approach your issue.
