Default inner and outer tie rod replacement

im about to change out my inner and outer rods. the procedure is simple. just needed someone to chime in with any advice or tips before i get started. i dont have the manual so im asking if there are any little tips that the manual has that would not be general knowledge. i know there is a washer that needs to be un-staked. once i get the rods out should i put any kind of grease or lube on the rack ? then anti seize? did i forget anything?

TIA guys.

Lube the gear if you can. Try not to cut the boot to get the tie rod on. It stretches but not easily.

Perform alignment right away. You can count how man rotations you turned to remove the outer so you can get close. That's only true if your replacement is exactly the same. I'd get a ball joint tool ready just in case

i have all new inner and outer rods. i will measure the old ones when installing new set in. what kind of lube should be used? all purpose? i didnt cut the boot. i took off the straps and will slide it off after. i just read the shop manual ( which i just got ) that you will need a 32mm and a 35mm wrench. specialty wrenches since these sizes are not very commonly used. i will try and go to harbor freight and get some adjustables or get the service wrench set. the 32mm and 35mm translate to SAE 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 in. ill be tackling the job when i get home. ill take some pictures and put up a DIY since there isnt one.

Just use a adjustable crescent wrench
