installation: new brake pads
new pads are larger and need to compress the piston. unlike the front the emergancy brake keeps the piston in place? where is the best place to loosen the emergancy brake cable. would like to keep the emergancy brake line on the caliper assembly intact so the assembly bolts back w/o issues if possible
I haven't done brakes on an S2000 yet, so I maybe wrong. Most cars with rear disc brakes have a slot or groove in the piston so that it can be turned back into the caliper. You shouldn't have to mess with the e-brake cable.

yeah I use a "Brake Cube", it uses a standard 3/8" extension and has 9 different patterns, all you have to do is match it up to the piston and using a ratchet simply screw the piston back in...

You actually dont need anything special, like this brake cube. A regular 3/8 extension will fit right in the middle and allow you to twist it in.
But yeah I got mine from Pep Boys I believe and it was in the same ballpark as the napa item.

on the back of the rear pad there is a small notch. you want to try to get it aligned with the piston. technically if you dont it will still line up sooner or later but you will have a sudden loss in pressure when it does.
