Default Installed new head, wont start, help please

Hello Guys, I am new to the forums and have a question please.

I installed a new head on my car and have everything back to how it was. Before doing anything I took the fuel pump fuse out. Now that I am trying to start the car again, I installed the fuse and could hear the pump running when I turn the key.
But I cant get it to start...basically all the lights turn on and the engine cranks but it wont start. I have a feeling that the fuel is not getting to the cylinders. Since I had the fuel rail off, is there anything I need to do to prime the fuel system???

I checked the fuse and its not blown...i checked all the electrical connectors and hoses but no luck. The engine turns but cant get it to start. Please help, would appreciate any advice.

Thanks a ton!

Either the camshafts are out of time or you didn't put the ground wires on the back of the cylinder head.

I followed the manual for camshaft installation..followed all the steps.
I also installed the ground wire at the back of the cylinder head...it was just one bolt with couple of wires. Is there any other ground wire?
Thanks

Try jumping the car. You might not have enough juice on your battery.
Also, did you set your lash to the correct clearances?

Does it sound like a normal crank or a flat line crank. Could be compression and a bad head / bent valves.

Also if u r using used /old injectors, could be clogged. Try tapping them hard on the side as someone cranks.

valve lash or valve clearance

Double check your engine harness again. Make sure everything is connected.

Guys I did a compression test...I averaged around 250 - 255psi??? I think the stock is 240 psi...is this a problem? Could it be that when the engine starts and the parts settle, this will come down.

The engine cranks like it does before starting..it just wont start..checked the ground wire at the back and its installed...and checking the timing at the moment..thanks guys.

Hi sir,

One thing you may want to check is your ECU. I know this may sound a bit strange, but after removing all wiring harnesses and then replacing the head, the ECU may need to be cleared of codes. Try resetting the ECU and see if it starts up. This sounds very similar to when I did several mods to my engine and bay.

Much success,
