Default Installed steering rack/front bump steer spacers.

Hey, so I just install bump steer spacers and just to clarify I understand how the rack and pinion works with toe rods and etc. Just wanted to make sure before I continue to get an alignment that when installing bump steer spacers it totally jacks up the alignment correct?

Because after installing the bump steer spacers my car sways out of control like I'm hydroplaning. Figured that's normal since I'm messing with the part that controls the toe in the front. Just wanted the extra peace of mind since I don't want to go to the alignment shop finding out something got jacked up during the install. I won't be able to make it out to the alignment shop anytime soon since I have new rims that I need to finish assembling before I go. And waiting on a very bad vendor on S2Ki to refund my money to purchase another set of fenders.

My steps of install were, unbolt the 14's on the steering rack, loosen the 10mm that holds the radiator hose, 14mm sway bar and I disconnected the toe rod from the driverside and the 10mm steering column to give the driverside more play to put the bolt in. It was a bitch, the bolt had to be shortened and modified for it to fit. I don't understand why the hell they would sell something that needs modification. Took me 2 days with the bad weather we're having.

I'm using a 20mm Blox Steering Rack spacer.

rob says your toe will be out when doing this install.

if you do anything to alter the steering or suspension of a car its going to have adverse effects on alignment...just get it aligned and you should be good to go

I'm aware of that, just needed the peace of mind because it rides like total shit. Making sure that nothing got damaged during the install which I highly doubt, I followed rob's instructions except I loosened the steering column to give me more slack.

it probably jacked your toe specs all up when you put those spacers in since they change the angle of the whole steering rack...and a car with f@#ked up toe specs will ride like shit

ahh perfect. i'm slightly worried because there is also alittle play in the steering rack. it's such a waste of money for me to get an alignment when my rims are almost assembled.

Remove the rack spacers until you are ready for an alignment.
You shouldn't of needed to modify anything. Just needs massaging and patience to put in. I installed a T1R kit in my car and it wasn't easy but manageable.
Maybe the brand you bought? Blox is a subpar brand but maybe not so with these spacers. No mechanics behind it.

Also, after install I changed the toe just enough to drive it to an alignment shop. You'll have more toe out so just bring the toe back in until the wheels look pretty straight.

yeah im not gonna remove the spacers, it took a long time but if i had to do again it would take 30 minutes but i don't want to take the risk. especially with the rain in socal.

i'll just bring the toe in close enough.

*May I enquire as to what the rack spacer actually does?
And what is bump steer?*

Nevermind, a quick google explained all. Interesting solution.
