What Jeff says is true but only the Yellow Jacket can be adjusted on the fly without needing to shut the car off for each calibration attempt.
Who's Jeff? stratocaster or reds2?

and since i'm installing 4.57 gears i don't necessarily need the Yellow box, correct?

Jeff = Stratocaster

You don't have to have anything. You will however be off 12-14% on your speedo. So if it says you are doing 100, you will only be doing 86. On top of that, your mileage will be off as well.

So if you want to correct that, you need something. The choice is yours. The car will be driveable eitherway.

You really don't want to be piling on mileage at 14% more than reality, not to mention that knowing what speed you're going is generally acknowledged to be a good thing

haha when i said i don't necessarily need the yellow box, i meant that it had features that i probably won't use, furthermore implying that i should just get the yellow jacket instead of spending more money on something i don't need (yellow box)

anyways, thanks for the help i'm buying the yellow jacket
