Intake snorkel vs CAI?
Not much came out of the search in terms of comparing the two. Intake snorkels appear to cost ~$100 more than cold air intakes. I assume this is because the snorkels are carbon fiber based. Is one better than the other? Where is the air filter situated for the AEM V2? Just looking for opinions on the board.
The snorkel make the stock intake a cold air one. You can get the ones from "Muz" that are cheaper because he makes them out of plastic or fiberglass.
The AEM filter is located behind the right fake airduct in the the bumper. (It's this question that saved this thread from getting moved to S2000 Talk.
)
The AEM type of intake will give you some gains due to it's design (smoother interior air passageway). But then, with the AEM, you'll have to do a couple of mods to prevent water from "raining" down onto the filter and getting sucked into your engine.
So, in regards to your question, "Which is better?" You'll have to ask yourself, "Better for what?"
