Default Intermittent starting issues - Single Click with Start button is pressed

My 2006 with 76K miles is having intemittent starting issues. Battery is fine. It was replaced a year ago and the dealer had tested it very recently after I reported this issue.

When I press the start button, I hear a single click from under the hood. Lights are dimming when the starter button is depressed. A/C is slowing down as well. After repeated attempts the car is starting fine without any hesitation. The battery terminals and connectors look fine. No corrosion.

So guys, is it the starter going bad? Please advise. The dealer thinks replacing the starter may not necessarily fix the issue because they are unable to determine the root cause.

Thanks in advance. And my apologies in advance if I had missed a thread discussing this same issue.
