Did you take before and after or at least after measurements of the friction material remaining on the disc?

The only problem I had with the clutch is that it was excessively noisey......after talking to exedy they replaced my first clutch. The second clutch was much better but the noise did not go away. Some of the problem with the noise was gear rattle in my transmission.

But for FI applications I have to admit that the clutch hooked up! Much better than the stock clutch.

I may have to reconsider my clutch choice. A company that would not warranty a part after only 1,200 miles doesn't sit well with me.

My clutch was excessively noisey as well, but Exedy insisted it was normal for a racing clutch and would not replace it. Mine was noisey at engagement especially at slow speeds and in reverse.

I have this clutch in my SC'ed S2000,

I would not recommend it, at all.

Get something from ACT with the 2600 pound pressure plate. I wouldn't recommend the Exedy clutch at ALL. Too harsh, slips too much under power, and sucks for traffic.

My recommendation would be the following...

ACT HD Pressure Plate
OEM Clutch disk
Toda or Comptech Flywheel.

That is the setup i have on my SC'd track car. I just recently replaced a broken OEM clutch disk that lasted 40K miles. The PP and FW where still in great shape so only the disk was replaced. I prefer the OEM disk because its sprung and feel that offers a great deal of protection to the drive line. If i were to goto an unsprung disk it would be a full disk not a puck type disk.

The main problem with the stock setup on a SC'd car is clamping force. The ACT PP provides enough extra clamping to prevent any slip after the clutch has been released. An OEM PP will slip if given half a chance.

Yeah, the Exedy has a.... 2100 lb pressure plate? Not positive on that.

SC'd cars absolutely need a 2600 lb pressure plate, IMO. Some people's clutches have lived with adding the SC, but even with stock Vortech boost my clutch was giving up the ghost. With 350 rwhp, the Exedy clutch slips just a little bit up past 7000 or so.

Which "it" are you refering to?

Jason00S2000, Any bit of slipping with a clutch after its released spells the death of that clutch. Its not just normal wear that occurs when this happens. You are basicly turning your clutch into a disk brake and its not designed to handle the heat generated when it slips like that.
