well it looks like i'm making a trip to sears this afternoon :p
I'd go with the smaller one. I have a 3-ton and it is overkill.

Let me know what you find on the shelf at Sears. I was looking in January and they "didn't have jack" due to the Xmas selling season. Maybe they have re-stocked by now.

the store i went to only had one left they were having a sale on craftsman 2 1/4 jacks ($29.99). so i picked up one of those and 2 pairs of 2 1/4 jack stands ($14.99).

the set i linked in my original post had the 2 1/4 jack with jack stands priced at $60. so basically i got a pair of jack stands for free

but the bad news is, i can't get to any of the jacking points without driving up on to a ramp or using the scissor jack. my car isn't dumped, but i guess its too low 4 this jack to even access the sides. o well it was a good price. now its time to make some ramps

you should have no problems reaching the side and rear jacking points @ stock height. the front is always a problem with cars of this height. i'm barely missing the rear and sides with my current ride height.

Notice the 2x4s under my front tires in the pic I posted. IT's so I can get the jack under the jack points.

Thanks, 9000. $29.99 is a good price. I hope they have those 2 1/4 ton babies next month.

What Sears did you find that stuff at? I looked at E.L.A., Hollywood and North Hollywood before I gave up.

My 3-ton will _not quite_ fit under my front (OEM stock) jack points, so I drive up onto a piece of wood, like some of these other posters. However, I think the saddle of the 2 1/4 ton may sit a little higher than my 3 ton at complete down position. ... I haven't yet tried to reach the central jack point in front, or lift from the diff in back.

Is that omega jack really 143 lbs as one of the online retailers claim?

Had $60 Sears jack. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for.

Ended up with the Arcan jack from Costco. Gave the Sears one away.

Wow, I almost bought that one when they were on sale last year.
Glad i didn't.
How bad is it?

Dan
For the few few months I was like a nascar pit guy. The car would be way off the ground in like 3 pumps. Now it takes like a dozen and I pray that it doesnt drop. About an hour after I use it, it spits up some fluid on my floor.
