I've got the Craftsman 2 1/4 ton jack (+ stands) and it works just fine. I don't know why I seem to be different from others who need ramps or lumber, but I can access the central jacking points (essentially the differential and at the front near the oil pan) with the jack saddle without any pre-lifting. I'm on stock suspension, not lowered, which might explain it.
