Default J's Racing Engine Torque Damper

I got a new S2000 and it kind of bugs me when I turn it off the car (it shakes a little) I came accross a torque damper for the s2000. Will this stop this from happening ? Have any of you install it on your car? Did you notice any difference? Any feedback will be appreciated.

I have one and have had it for about 3 years and its a great piece. I have no complaints. It helps with engine vibration at high rpm shifts and it also helps with engine rigidity with higher mileage s2ks (at idle). We all know as your car gets older and parts settle things eventually give, warp, or whatever. I have noticed with my past 3 Hondas/Acuras that the engine vibrates more with age and mileage and really thats with any car. The ETD helps with minimizing that.

I am not too sure if this will help your situation being that you have a new car. I know what your talking about and I still get that shake but its not bad at all. Barely noticeable.

It is made for both left and right hand drive...so you have to specify which one you want when you buy it. They are around 220-250 for the ETD. The install is a Pain in the ass, and you need to cut or modify the fuse box mount in order for it to fit. Overall after I had installed this, I personally noticed nothing really spectacular (I did however notice that my shift knob did not shake as much)

Many people have said great things about this product, and I was a little dissapointed after the install...I really didn't noticed anything different or that could justify the 2XX i spent. But the enegine bay looks cooler!

You hit the nail right on the head. You really dont notice much and your 100% correct with the shiftknob vibration. Mine is and has been almost non existant since I installed it.

It will help your situation A LOT.

Your engine will move around even more when you are driving the car, especially with bumps and heel/toeing. Every time you hit the throttle, the engine torquing effect throws weight laterally. The damper greatly reduces this effect, and also improves shift quality by stabilizing the transmission.

The damper is 100% functional and does exactly what it's supposed to- of course, the damper does nothing when you are driving in a straight line, at a constant RPM, on a smooth surface (it's not supposed to).

I highly recommend this modification. I would have paid 2x the price for it, if I had to.
