Impressed and surprised by the margin the F22C has over the F20C stock, up to 20hp. Folks with AP2s gotta be likin' that number.

I love mine.

Whats more my only ARGUMENT is that an extra ~2400 for engine from halfway around the world is not ridiculous nor outrageous.
Terd seems to think it is. And on that at least I agree.

If you admit that the only tangible thing you are getting for $2400 is a brand name and flash valve cover etc then we are in agreeance.

If you don't feel that is a great difference then we disagree, but I'm happy to admit it is a subjective argument. And no, I won't be paying for any of your mods soon.

Hey, read my sig, then read my location and see if you still need to ask if I've shipped international or not.

I also sold over 40 Aus Air Intake Extensions to the UK and the USA.

I can assure you, I know freight.

All I'm saying is that you JDM'ers seem to be including costs that support your argument (like oil caps) and ignoring ones that don't (like freight).
I'm not ignoring the cost of freight, i just didn't add it in. Its not like I am pretending you won't have to pay for shipping two engines. I only know the concrete price of the crate motor. The shipping rates would vary wildly with all the different locations of all the members invovled in this discussion.

Which is why I included the price sans engine management and have been using that ~6600 figure in my arguments.
Hey, don't roll your eyes at me. You're the one that included it in your list but didn't include any engine management for the J's.

I'm all for the J's motor. Have you misunderstood me? The price difference is not outrageous nor ridiculous. And you do have a hand assembled, balanced and blueprinted, stroked motor with headwork (that may or may not make a claimed 300 ps and 30 kgm at the crank). For less than $8000. How in the wolrd could that possibly be outrageous and/or ridiculous?

My point exactly. There is a cost and inconvenience involved but as it's against your argument you choose to ignore it.

Surely this blows your 'crate motor convenience' out of the water. Where's the convenience if you either have to pre-ship your motor or pay a core exchange deposit prior to a J's motor shipping?

And it's obvious from this that J's are using used blocks and heads for their build ups (not that I suspected otherwise) so we can reduce the new block and head prices in the local build up.

So people running down J's racing's crate motor as being too expensive for the results it provides is simply not based in reality.
Ok so you've just said that the J's motor is worth the cost for the performance that it provides. You've also said you have a local guy who has one. Sounds like you can shut everybody up by doing one thing.....get us a dyno from that engine and describe the other mods that car has.

You can shut us all up by showing a great dyno. It's put up or shut up time. Lets stop arguing and see if the J's motor meets it's claims......

No, I don't think I made my point clear enough. 1AP12NV stated that $2400 for freight (a motor from halfway around the world) is not ridiculous. You said freight wasn't that expensive (so we can ignore it in the pricing).

The irony is that the additional $2400 doesn't actually include the freight.
