Default JDM ECU on a USDM S2000

Is there any reason a stock JDM ECU from a MY01 s2000 would not work on a USDM MY01 s2000 or any other year?

I know the immobilizer will be gone, but other than that, should it work?

Probably won't pass smog, even if it works.

It would give you a great speed limiter.. why do you want to do it anyway?

Wouldn't a JDM ECU cause the car to run richer than it does due to the fact that that ECU is designed for an engine running 11.7:1 compression to our 11.0:1 compression?
