Default Jic Coilover Has Arrived

UPS man dropped off my JIC coilovers on Friday. But I didnt have anytime to install it yet. Hopefully today if I can have the time. Anyone else have any experience with JIC installation and would like to give me some tips before I get started on it.

I put a full inch of pre-load all the way around and the car handles with such gracefulness!

Actually after reading the old posts, I did go back and adjust the rear to .75". So I am retracting the above made statement.

I put 1" of preload in the front and .75" in the back, but if you calculate the amount of preload for the dampers to be mid-stroke at rest, you will come up with around .75" front and .55" rear.

What do you recommend for the setting for the streets here in houston? The roads here can get pretty rough due the massive construction at some areas. Im willing to sacrifice performance over comfort. I prefer a smoother and quieter ride. I preloaded 1" in the front and .75" in the rear as "recommended". Im running on 245x45x16 in the rear and 225x50x16 in the front with an inch gap all around. My current setting for the shock is the 8th click clockwise since I dont know what is the best one yet. Thanks guy

HTownScene,

I may need you to *show* me how this pre-load technique is done. I'm not able to visualize the process by reading that thread.

Thanks,
joe

I keep mine set full soft front and rear on the street. When I autocross, I set the front full stiff, and the rear at about 4 clicks.
