JIC MAGIC FLT-A2 coilover suspension
Ok here is the deal.
i have had these coilovers installed on my car and i have been riding on them for about 4-5 months now. They look sweet, the ride is superb on smooth roads but the moment i meet some bumps in the road there is this small noise that is driving me crazy!
Its not really loud, but i cant stand it. the sound is a kind of thud coming from the front. All the bolts have been checked 1000 times and i have been told by honda-tech members that this is a normal sound for coilovers. They claim that it has something to do with the metal pillowball mounts at the top of the coilovers that are responsible for the noise.
Can anyone confirm this?
Because if it turns out that it IS the mount then im going to sell these and get a setup that requires the use of the factory shock mount with the rubber centers.
As for suggestions, i do not mind going to a spring and shock combo, or another coilover without the metal pillowball mount. I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out.
thanks!

Sounds like your coilovers are "bottoming out", it is the upper arm hitting the metal wheel hub. How low is your car? The lower you go the more this occurence will happen. The pillowball mount causes the whole strut to travel up and hit the top when the shock and spring travel is maxed out. So, try going over the bumps slower and you won't experience this annoyance.
Wrong
You are hitting the bump stops. The JICs need preload on the springs, about 1 inch on the front and 3/4 inch at the rear.
Take a look at the clearance between the bump stop and the end of the damper when the car is on a flat surface its likely just a few mm.

After I added the preload the car was %100 better.
