Default Just bought an S2000 yesterday

SO i just bought an S2000 yesterday. Silverstone 2001 59,000 niles. I was wondering if there is anything i should look out for mechanically on the car. I dont know that much about S2000's. Thx for all your help.

EDIT: just noticed today that the engine makes a little bit of a whistleing sound undre light acceleration around 3-4k rpm. Is this normal?

at 60,000 = complete fluid change - trans, diff, breaks, clutch, and have valves adjusted

Also check to make sure your spark plugs are torqued properly. Since you have an '01 you may want to upgrade to the updated oil jet bolts but it is not necessary.

Whistling sound = intake noise

It's 100% common and nothing to worry about.

You'll know when the TCT goes out. The car will sound like a diesel.

For the basic fluid changes and valve adj, I probably wouldn't take it to a dealer. Check out the regional s2ki forums...post in your region's forum and ask for a shop recommendation in your area. Use Honda MTL for the tranny, OEM pads, and Mobil 1, Redline or LE gear oil for the diff. The shop should have a decent DOT 3 fluid for the brakes & clutch.
