Question Just changed clutch and have major problems

I changed my clutch w/ an oem flywheel, release bearing, disc, and ACT pp. I followed all the instructions in the honda manual but now i'm having serious problems. First the pedal was extremely stiff when I tried bleeding the clutch. It felt like pushing down on a brake pedal unassisted. However I was able to bleed the clutch successfully.

After I started the car, I tried pushing down the clutch all the way. However, all I heard was this tap tap tap tap tap sound half way when trying to press it down. It happened a few times so I turned the car off. I then lost all pedal feel and it wouldn't even come back up. Also, the fluid resevoir began emptying. Does anyone have a clue what's going on?

i know one thing: you've got a clutch fluid leak.

and i'll bet from installation error..

yea the fluid leak is the easy part. that's pretty obvious. but the fact that there was a repetitive tapping sound whenever i pressed down on the pedal while the car was on and the fact that I lost all fluid after I turned off the car is pretty weird.

not to mention the pedal which was unbelievably stiff

okay so it looks like the release bearing was knocked out of its groove while putting the transmission back in. basically the release bearing sits in a groove and the back of the release bearing has a large face to pull on the fingers of the pressure plate and has another ring to hold the other side of the fingers when they are moving back. However it seems this indentation can be easily knocked behind the fingers. this kept happening while I was putting the transmission back in. If it's so easily knocked in when I push on the clutch pedal shouldn't it be able to pull the release bearing back into place?

yes i did. i seem to have lost pedal pressure because the engine spinning knocked the clutch fork out of its holder causing the rod on the slave cylinder to fall out.

no one can offer any help? i think it might be the release bearing being knocked it because the car starts up fine but only starts making the weird noise when I step on the clutch. has anyone else experienced this?

Once I finish with midterms I'm going to pay a friend to use his lift and open it back up. Just want to get some insights before I try it for the second time.

i'd recommend doing the install all over again, and doing it correctly.
